the reform activities gave women an opportunity to seek for higher education.Education was not deemed as a necessary qualification for wives and mothers.This changed after the reform movement because women rights were started to be respected. Employment rate for women started to increase to. Before the reforms their employment rate was low because they were considered inferior. They were discriminated and looked down upon. the rising employment of women was a major influence on the women's rights movement in the south. Existing laws made it difficult for women to own businesses and excluded them for politics and public positions.Women were considered as people who only stayed home and take care of the children while men were out there looking for food for the family. This also changed after the reform movements began.
